Cory Boughton is a SAG-AFTRA actor and voice talent with credits in Theatre, Film, TV, Voice, Print, Commercial and Industrial. He is also a published writer and independent filmmaker. 

 

He has performed in touring and regional theatres nationwide and played several lead roles off-off Broadway, including world premieres as Dr. Patrick Tyler in Dysfunctional Theatre Co's Making History and Detective Jack Carter in RadiotheatreNYC's Murder on Broadway. He portrayed the original Rev. Justin Waverly in both world premieres of Christmas Belles and Southern Hospitality and most recently portrayed Thomas Wolfe at The Thomas Wolfe National Historic Site in Downtown Asheville, reading excerpts from his letters at a ticketed event for Julia Wolfe's 166th birthday. He has also performed principal roles on numerous TV shows including Dutch Schultz in AMC's Making of the Mob: NY, Asa Candler in History Channel's Food That Built America and seedy cops on both Showtime Network's City On A Hill and RZA's Wu-Tang Clan: An American Saga. He also portrays the Boston Marathon Announcer in Je-Kyu Kang's Blockbuster Sports Drama Road to Boston.

 

Most recently, he was seen as the Unknown Man in NC Stage Co's Is This A Room and Beau Van Kipness in Lees McRae College's summer production of The Cottage which was triple-nominated for Best Play, Best Ensemble and Best Performer in a Play by BroadwayWorld:Charlotte. Last August, his self-produced short film Lady in Black  was triple nominated for Best Hair/Makeup, Best Wardrobe and took home the award for Best Cinematography in the 2025 Asheville Film Festival.
